Nature loves diversity because diversity in nature leads to healthy ecosystems. We want diversity in our companies because that leads to stronger, healthier and more resilient systems. 

People come in a variety of physical shapes and sizes, yet cultural conditioning has us automatically favoring some and judging others, often subconsciously. It’s not something we often talk or hear about from D&I leaders. That has real consequences for diversity. 

Size, just like race, gender and ethnicity is an attribute of diversity. 

• What are some of the ways we are conditioned to think about someone who is very short or very tall?
• What are some of the ways we are conditioned to think about someone who is very thin or very heavy?
• All of today's emphasis on diversity training with the promise of bringing awareness to unconscious bias never addresses body size or body shape, even though it is a diversity issue with significant impact.
